Cr Bob Sanders is keen to be re-elected to the Ararat Rural City Council

I am proud to be standing for election as a councillor again for the Ararat Rural City and thank the residents for their trust in electing me to represent them for the past four years.

My first term as a councillor has seen many achievements for our Local Government area with on average 0% rate rise over seven years being made possible with no loss of services to our community.

We as councillors created a simple plan to drive the ARCC forward in six key objectives and this has been behind my decision making at all times.

I entered local government with no agenda besides good governance and lifting all standards within the ARCC, and this has been achieved with good growth in many areas including industry, housing, sporting facilities and general wellbeing of our residents.

If re-elected I will continue to push for our future and this includes the planned new eighty bed hotel, plastoil plant, Aradale plan, biogas plant, new basketball courts, outdoor/indoor pool and a redevelopment plan for the current McDonald Centre which will house numerous community agencies under the one roof.

These are just some of the projects that will be on the agenda for the next four years and it is paramount that I continue to make sure our standards of service delivery to the community does not suffer.

After serving one year as councillor, two as deputy mayor and one as mayor where I was the face of council during the fires at Pomonal and Bayindeen I feel that I am more than capable to serve the residents of ARCC for another term and ask for you to elect me to continue the great work that has already been done within our great municipality.
